Assisting stroke victims and their families.

Gods Will

After a stroke or other life-changing events, you may question your faith and you may ask: Why me? Why Us? Are we being punished?

Chapter IX: BBF Vision 2021

We look forward to working with the American Heart Association and other related organizations that we support. It has been so fulfilling for us to be involved with such great people and good causes that have had a positive impact on others over the last decade.

I feel so blessed to be alive after my stroke in December 2006. Since then, I have been able to see my children graduate from college while watching them play in many golf tournaments for their respective universities.

After college our son, Brandon, and daughter, Britt, married two wonderful people, Kelly and Andy. What fun it is to now have four grandchildren, Brody, Carter, Kendall and Connor. They are all living in Dayton, Ohio, where we visit frequently. Who would’ve thought it from where we were 12 years ago when we figured we would never have fun again.

In addition to the kids, my husband, Bruce, has recently retired and very active with the BBF and other organizations. He also spends a lot of time on the golf course, paddle boarding, shooting skeet and working on various projects.

We are spending the bulk of our time in South Bend, Dayton and St. Petersburg, Fla. I love getting on the water when we can, birdwatching, baking, reading and doing my therapy daily.

Life is different yet fulfilling. I will have to say, speech is still frustrating at times and I wish I could walk a little bit better, although I do just fine with a cane and thankful for the resources of my EFS Wearable Therapy equipment (information on the website).

Other updates include the BBF expanding its age demographic, working on a mobile-friendly platform for the website and doing more hands-on interaction with stroke victims and their families this year.

Further, we’re seeing new opportunity for stroke victims through rehabilitation and other therapies that are relevant today and need to keep this relevant information current on the BBF website.

Lastly, please keep apprised of the current AHA events that are listed on the homepage. Join us when you can. Thank you for your support.

God Bless You and Yours

With Love and Appreciation,
